Realcomm - Will You Be There?

It’s Friday, so it’s time for a funny (crossing fingers) video that has some “news you can use” in it as well.

If you don’t want to view the above video, you can read on. You’ll miss out on two comedy bits that might make you smile, but that’s okay. All the pertinent facts are after this.

I’ve just been asked to be on a panel at Realcomm 2009, which is happening later this month in Chicago. June 23rd-24th, with a pre-con day on June 22, to be exact.

The last Realcomm I was at was in Boston in 2007. The show was great then, and I’m sure it’ll be just as good now. In fact, looking at the panel and speaker line up, I can pretty much guarantee it will be.

Speaking of panels, I’m on one about commercial real estate brokerage and social networking, which shouldn’t be a surprise. Here’s the description:

(Tuesday, 06/23; 2:00PM - 3:30PM; Brokerage 2.0 Forum)
How to Make $$$ Thru Social Networking

Find out directly from the experts at/on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, CREOPoint, RealEra, and Ning (and Sibdu) exactly how to innovate right now by using their social networks for business networking, new business development, best practices, endorsements, specialty group discussions, client/prospect research, referrals, job searching, and much, much more. If you desire to make more money this year while distinguishing yourself from your competition, then you will not want to miss this session.

Somehow, I think that says it all. And yep, I added the “and Sibdu,” as I was a last-minute add and they haven’t yet changed the Web site copy.

Overall, Realcomm is a great opportunity for anyone involved in commercial and corporate real estate to connect, learn and grow — pretty much like Sibdu, actually. Here’s the skinny:

REboot.09 - Turning Challenges into Opportunities
This year’s conference theme is: “REboot” 2009: Turning Challenges into Opportunities. With the current sluggish economy and frozen credit markets, companies will need months (if not years) to “refresh,” and business plans might be more difficult to carry out. In the context of commercial real estate businesses, REboot means that we have to re-think and, in some cases, re-structure the way that we operate our businesses. Click here to find out more!

If you are going, let me know. Maybe we can organize a Tweetup-style event that Tuesday night, or maybe lunch or dinner … ?

And just in case you need a bit more convincing, here’s Realcomm CEO and Co-Founder Jim Young, talking more about Realcomm:

Join Sibdu today, and connect with professionals involved in all facets of commercial, corporate and investment real estate. Whether its brokerage, architecture, construction, property management, insurance or any other field that makes up the entire CRE market, Sibdu is the place to be to find those valuable associates. Plus with specialized tools to help you with your job and make more money at the same time, we’re the place to be … all the more! It’s all at Sibdu, and it’s all FREE!

  1. Humor felt a little forced, but nice try. Nice to see a fellow Mafia Wars player.

I do like the graphics, though. It’s obvious you aren’t the typical blogger who sits in front of a webcam and records whatever is on his mind. That’s what’s better about your video than most, too. You put a lot of thought and I’d guess time, too, before putting it out there.

And if I were in commercial re, I’d consider coming after seeing your video. The second guy’s video gave more info, but man was it boring.
